Filip Caranica

Filip Caranica (b. Bucharest, RO) is an artist based in Berlin, DE. With a background in both contemporary music and time-based art, he develops audiovisual works. The works trace the properties of sound beyond the realm of acoustics and music into their critical connotations within social realities.
His artistic practice understands sound as an invisible interaction between bodies and as an indication of the impermanence of material and immaterial boundaries. Filip Caranica’s works reflect upon the themes of materialism and spirituality, national and migrant identities, subversive forms of violence, hypothetical forms of life and posthumanism.
